Purpose
To provide quality instruction to students in the area of Enrichment Learning within the College’s Protestant, Biblical framework.
Accountability
The position is directly accountable to the Creative Learning Centre Co-ordinator.
Relates to
The position works in conjunction with Class Teachers and Teacher Aides in the Enrichment Unit. Other key areas of relationship are parents and students, especially those identified as needing learning support.

Responsibilities
Provided below are the primary responsibilities for this position. From time to time other duties may be deemed necessary and these will be determined in conjunction with the person this position is accountable to.
- Provide learning assistance to students as follows:
- Arrange the testing of new & existing students;
- Participate in conferences involving enrichment unit staff, teachers, parents and other relevant professionals;
- Communicate with parents, providing support where applicable in the area of their child’s needs;
- Assist with the OT program;
- Liaise with classroom teachers to develop group/individual programs;
- Assist in providing resources for students to use in class and at home;
- Provide advocacy for special needs students in assignments, exams, technology, teaching methods;
- Assist with the professional development of staff in catering for a diverse student population;
- Plan and manage the work of Enrichment Unit Teacher Aides;
- Manage systems and resources within the Enrichment Unit;
- Communicate within the Enrichment Unit, and with our wider College community and class teachers as required.

Qualifications
Teachers must hold current Queensland Teacher registration.
Workplace Health & Safety
The position is responsible to:
- Promote a positive safety culture in the College;
- Support the Principal in the establishment of an OHS Management System and in the carrying out of his/her various roles and responsibilities in OHS;
- Comply with the OHS policy, safe work procedures, instructions and rules, particularly in the correct use of equipment;
- Identify any unsafe behaviour, or unsafe or unhealthy conditions, and report these to the Principal;
- Adopt risk management strategies to minimise the risk of injury to people and property in the workplace;
- Be responsible for own health and safety of others in the workplace who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work;
- Co-operate with his/her Principal or other person so far as is necessary to enable compliance with any requirements under the Queensland Health and Safety Act 1995 and the regulations that are imposed in the interests of health, safety and welfare on any person;
- Attend OHS supervisor and other education and training opportunities, as provided, and apply learning;
- Co-operate in the annual OHS auditing process.
Probation Period
A probation period of 6 months applies to this position.
Appraisal & Review
Appraisal and review will be in accord with Cooloola Christian College documented process which reviews each three years.
