ACS Christmas Lunch 2025
November 11, 2024This past Friday, we hosted our annual ACS Christmas Lunch—a special occasion to gather with our valued firends, collegues and, ACS Partners, and leaders for a time of fellowship.
This year’s event held particular significance as we honored Alistair Macpherson, the outgoing ACS Executive Director of Public Policy & Advocacy. ACS Director, Craig Murison, extended heartfelt thanks to Alistair for his many years of dedicated service, recognising his invaluable contributions to the growth and strengthening of Christian education.
In appreciation, Alistair was presented with a unique and meaningful gift: an original tile from the floor of St Stephen’s Hall in the Palace of Westminster, laid in the early 1800s. This tile bears witness to the many critical debates and discussions that took place in the hall, as it served as a transitional meeting area for members of parliament and a place where influential speeches and pivotal debates were witnessed. William Wilberforce, in particular, made powerful speeches here advocating for the abolition of the slave trade—a cause that would lead to transformative social change not only in Britain but globally. We hope this gift serves as a reminder of the profound impact Alistair has made on Christian Education around Australia.
