Who is it for?

The Study Tour is designed for school Principals, Deputy Principals, Heads of School and Directors of teaching and learning.

International Cultural Experience

To incorporate a cultural immersion experience not generally available in the immediate professional context.

Networking & Sharing

To meet new people in new settings who do things in different ways, which can challenge current frameworks and impact future professional and personal practice.

Impact Your School

Through intimate sessions with school leaders and key staff, experience education from a different perspective. Be exposed to unique organisational structures, hear about the challenges facing New Zealand schools and how they are being overcome.

Reflect, Recharge, Experience & Reinvigorate

The Study Tour allows leaders time to reflect and recharge. Providing insightful experience that broaden perspectives and reinvigorate the passion for education and organisational development.

Monday 5th & Tuesday 6th May	Alpha Leadership Conference	Royal Albert Hall London LC25 — Leadership Conference Experience the home of Alpha, be inspired by global leadership speakers at the LC2025 at Royal Albert Hall to set the scene and launch the study tour.
Wednesday 7th May	Start of Study Tour Meeting and Orientation in York 12:30pm	The Grand York York’s Luxury 5-Star Hotel & Spa in York \| The Grand, York (thegrandyork.co.uk)
Thursday 8th May	Visit Emmanuel College, Consett Road Gateshead, Tyne and Wear NE11 0AN United Kingdom	Emmanuel College was founded in 1990 as Tyneside’s City Technology College (CTC) and opened with just 150 Year 7 students.
Thursday 8th May	Dinner with Jonathon and Julie Winch at their home in Newcastle	Jonathon has been Principal of Emmanuel College Gateshead and also Executive Principal of the Emmanuel Schools Trust. He and Julie were keynote speakers at the 2012 ACS Leadership Summit held at Palmer Coolum Resort. Jonathon currently serves as Executive Director of Westminster Seminary. For those not familiar with Jonathon, a talk he gave on Christian education last year can be accessed here Christian Education \| Jonathan Winch (youtube.com). ACS also has a number of his resources available from his time with us in 2012.
Friday 9th May	Bede Academy, Sixth Avenue, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 2SY.	Bede Academy is Emmanuel Schools Foundation’s first 3-18 school and opened in September 2009 with Nursery, Primary and Secondary provision across two sites in Blyth on the Northumberland coast. Home – Bede Academy

Morning Monday 12th May	Visit to St Edward’s School (Teddies)	St Edward’s School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) in Oxford, England. It is known informally as ‘Teddies’. The School – St Edward’s School (stedwardsoxford.org)
Afternoon Monday 12th May	Visit to Kingham Hill	Kingham Hill is beautifully situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, near Oxford, Cheltenham and Stratford-Upon-Avon. Most of the buildings were constructed by local craftsmen during the 20 years following the foundation of the school in 1886. Kingham Hill School \| Independent School For Day and Boarding Pupils
Tuesday 13th May	Visit to Berkhamsted Overton House	Berkhamsted School is one of Britain’s leading independent schools, with over 470 years of history and tradition. It is a Day and Boarding school offering both single sex (from age 11 – 16) and co-educational teaching for boys and girls aged 3 – 18. About \| Berkhamsted School Richard and his wife Debbie were keynote speakers at our ACS 2013 Leadership Summit where he spoke on the topic of “Delivering the Goods” based on examining the text of Jonah 1-4.
Wednesday 14th May	Visit to Monkton Combe Monkton Combe, Bath	Monkton School, just a mile from the World Heritage City of Bath, is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 2-18 focussing on Christian ethos, excellent exam results and strong pastoral care. Monkton sets standards for life; giving young people the qualities of character they need to become trusted employees, inspiring leaders, valued friends and loving parents.
